In search of balance. Somewhere between perfecting her warrior pose and taking her daughter to the beach, public relations powerhouse Lisa Buyer is navigating her fourth successful business venture-The Buyer Group. The difference is in the search.
The spirited entrepreneur, who co-founded L&L Communications in 1993 and Moxie Group in 2000, balances the perfect blend of search engine friendly public relations, branding and business consulting for each client.
Author of “Social PR Secrets” and named one of the top 40 Digital Strategists for 2013, Lisa Buyer is passionate and ambitious about how public relations, social media, and SEO influence each other. Lisa brings more than 20 years of business management and communications expertise to The Buyer Group. Her creative energy and tireless drive have helped launch businesses, from small boutiques to Fortune 500 companies, to the next level.
At home Lisa finds balance spending time with family and friends, and sweating her way through vigorous yoga and pilates classes, which she says brings her empowerment and mental clarity.
“My best ideas are usually inspired during my yoga practice, on the TrekDesk or when I wake up early to enjoy the peacefulness of the morning hours,” said Lisa.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Lisa started her first company her junior year in college as a public relations major at the University of Florida. Designs by Lisa, a hand-painted t-shirt company, was a hit on campus and helped Lisa pay her tuition.
After an entry-level position with Real Estate Development Company, Arvida (now St. Joe), and several years heading up marketing and public relations at different businesses, Lisa started L&L Communications out of her partner’s back room. As she does with everyone she comes in contact with, Lisa left her mark at Arvida, and her first employer became her first client at L&L, the PR agency and design shop, which later grew to be a leading agency with more than 20 employees.
Lisa’s professionalism, keen understanding of business strategies and endearing spirit helped draw clients to her next business venture, where she gained major name recognition for her marketing savvy as the President and CEO of Moxie Group.
In 2006, Lisa launched The Buyer Group, where she works closely consulting with senior management teams to oversee the successful development and implementation of interactive public relations and branding plans for her client companies.A
She is also an editor for Social #PR Chat covering trends in Social PR, Mobile PR, Brand PR and SEO PR, a columnist with Search Engine Watch and a regular speaker at PubCon, SES, and part of the @ClickZ faculty, most recently becoming an instructor of the University of San Francisco’s online Advanced Social Media certificate program.
Lisa served on the Board of Directors for the American Lung Association of South Florida from 1997-2005 and has also made contributions to the Lindsey Rae Foundation, The Dan Marino Foundation, Abilities of Florida and Kids@Home.
