Sarah Collins Gets New Titles: VP of Social PR and Mom

The Buyer Group, a Social PR Agency founded by Lisa Buyer, is proud to announce our first-ever Vice President of Social PR, Sarah Collins. When Sarah rejoined the Buyer Group as Lead Strategist in May 2019 she also found out she was pregnant - nine months later we have two new titles for Sarah.

“In 2019, we experienced a massive growth spurt, and with 2020 on track to be a big year for us as well, promoting Sarah to the VP role was a no-brainer. She led us through growth in 2019 and I’m confident in her new role, she will help lead us to even greater heights in 2020,” said Buyer.

It comes full circle as Collins first started working at The Buyer Group after graduating in 2006. As social media took off in the early 2000s, she was a driving force behind implementing social media networks such as the newly launched Twitter, YouTube, and Myspace to maximize client’s PR exposure.

“When Facebook came on the scene in 2007, we said goodbye to MySpace and never turned back,” Collins said. “It was really groundbreaking that we were incorporating Facebook into the traditional public relations strategy, but it worked.”

After three years at The Buyer Group, Collins made the tough decision to move back home to Milwaukee to be closer to her loved ones. It’s there that she went on to work at leading agencies Laughlin Constable and Hanson Dodge.

During her time at Laughlin Constable, she led a team of 11 content specialists, social media strategists, marketing analysts, and SEO strategists who serviced nine full-time clients and ongoing one-off project work with retainers upwards of $1.4M+ with year-over-year budget increases.

Most recently in her role at Hanson Dodge, she was Vice President of Brand Engagement managing $4M+ in paid media annually working with brands such as Stanley PMI, K-Swiss, Medical College of Wisconsin, YMCA and more.

Collins’ ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving field of digital media has fueled her continuous growth, earning her multiple promotions throughout her career. After 10 years and two notable agencies, she brings with her a plethora of knowledge that has not only brought her back to The Buyer Group but is helping lead us into the future of the agency.

While the digital communications field is a fast-paced and sometimes tumultuous field, Sarah keeps her self balanced through her yoga practice. Along with processes and strategies, she also brings a positive mindset and sense of calm to the urgency that is agency life. Her passion for mentoring young talent is also an added bonus to our current team members.

“When one person thrives, we all thrive,” Collins said. “I try to explain my point of view and share my experiences as learning opportunities so we grow together.”

Cheers to recognizing this female disruptor and her talent that will inevitably lead us to scale new heights.
